African Perspectives Photography BookAccess Power
We were challenged with the task of creating a high quality coffee table photography book of a large collection of images which the client had taken during his visits to over 25 African countries as part of his work to provide accessible and reliable energy.
The depth of locations and subjects was more than enough to create a compelling book – the challenge was all the images were photographed using various camera phones over the years, with the early ones being especially difficult to work with for the level of quality needed for a book of this kind.
The editing process formed a large part of the project and many images had to be omitted for quality issues, and many required extensive retouch to bring them up to the required standard. We worked with the client to arrange the images into subjects to give the story its structure, and every spread is individually designed to compliment each image. The final book contains 200 images depicting all aspects of this great continent and is a fascinating insight into the lives of it’s people.
The book was printed as a limited edition of 500 – it was case bound, 196 pages plus end papers, 25cm x 21cm. An ebook version was also produced.
